Our New Bedroom

We have been busy working on our bedroom over my Spring Break and we are very proud of the finished product.  I can't help but smile while I sleep with the way our room looks now.  It feels like a completely different home we live in every time we complete another renovation.

Ok, since this did take us two weeks I want to show you exactly what we did in this room in detail.

We ripped out al the mouldings, took off the mirrored closet doors, ripped out the carpet, and painted the inside of the closets.

This was a last minute decision but the vinyl flooring was horrendous (yes, worse than the bare wood flooring underneath) so we ripped it up and still deciding on what to do with the floors.

This is a good renovation tip!  Buy spray paint and fix up existing fixtures.  We took the glass shades off the old light, took the little pyramid design off the sides, filled the holes with push pins, and spray painted it.  We added the old-style light bulbs and voila it's a new light!

Thanks to Uncle Ron and all his help we switched our old light in for a beautiful new ceiling fan.

Karen and Jenn hard at work on the wallpaper.  Thanks to Karen too for helping with the reno and look after our little rascal.  He definitely changes things when you want to get something done!

We took out our windows to wash them and we FELL IN LOVE WITH THE WINDOW BEING OPEN! We left it like this all day long just because we could haha.  We both decided in this moment we didn't want curtains or blinds.  We just wanted a open window from now on! haha.

^^ The open window in the bathroom was pretty amazing too!

Our little helper was making way too many scratches on our walls with tools so we had to strap him in!

The last installation was putting up this barn door!   In the end, it actually was super easy to install but for some reason we just weren't interested in doing it until the very last minute haha.

The finished room in all its glory!

We got a new bench for the end of our bed.

My Dad gave us an old rake which I was very excited to hang my jewelry from.

We still want to fix up the vanity top and add a shelf above the mason jar holder.  Jenn made the mason jar holder and she also made our soap dispenser!

We painted our vanity grey with teal knobs.  It looks like a new vanity!

We also kept the old mirror, painted it, and then distressed it.

Our new fan.  We actually bought three of these off castanet so we plan to put one in Finn's room and the other above our stairs.

Our little photo/art wall.  I plan to add a picture of Finn to this wall.

We spray painted the vent to make it look new again.

This is in our bathroom.  We got the cool bear print at Big White and the horns are my Uncle Harry's. We revamped the piece of wood and couldn't be happier with them.

We are so pleased with our new renovation.  Stay tuned for our next adventure!
