Salzburg

Well, that was a quick trip to Salzburg, Austria.  We sometimes pretend that we are on Amazing Race but the edition we play every participant has a baby!  I think that race would be the ultimate challenge.  Lately, it really has felt like we are on a race haha.  We have been making some quick stops in some places and we are looking forward to spending more time at our next stop.

Salzburg is beautiful!  Again, it felt like we were stepping back in time (similar to Prague) and living in Medieval times.  Our apartment was amazing and the style was right up my alley.  Here is the link to our Airbnb if you are interested.

I think Finn liked our place too!

Salzburg, Austria with the Salzach River at the forefront and the Hohensalzburg Fortress on the mountaintop in the back.
More love locks found on the bridge going into the Old Town.

Mozart was born here!  Salzburg has this huge music festival that takes place in July and August so it looks like we beat the busy tourist season!

This is where Mozart lived.

We all thought the doorbells to get ahold of a person was very cool.  You can see the wires runs all the way up to that persons apartment.  Go back up to the picture above this one and you can really see  more of the wires.

A popular street filled with lots of shopping and no cars.  The souvenir shops were filled with Mozart things, lederhosen, and Edelweiss.

This is one of my favourite shots I have taken so far.

Finn attracting more attention from tourists as he giggles and smiles while being thrown into the air.

Yep, he's a keeper.

Finn: "Oh my, you shouldn't have."  I click the photo and Jenn takes the donut away.  Tears, tears, and more tears come down Finn's face.  We didn't realize he would be so upset haha.  We were mean parents! haha.  The donut shaped pretzel dipped in chocolate was delicious.

The Hohensalzburg fortress.

We took the funicular (trolley cart thing) up to the fortress.

The view from the Fortress.

Jenn was very interested in knowing how far these bombs can go.  She in fact stuck her hand into the cannon to see if it was loaded!

Ok, hardcore Sound of Music fans prepare to be amazed.  Take a good hard look at these next couple of photos.  Recognize the scene?  There is a quiz at the end of this post!

Ok, did you really look closely??? Do you think you recognize this garden???? I have provided you with the answer below.  I must admit we went to this garden on the first day and thought it was cool but didn't take any pictures.  Then I watched some Sound of Music clips and I almost choked on my Stiegl Radler when I came across this one.  We were there!!!!  So we had to go back to the garden and take some more photos.  So Mom, Grandma, and Auntie Sue (and all you other die hard fans) these photos were for you!!!

Watch this movie clip, then go watch the entire movie!!! I know you wanna!

Auf Wiedersehen Austria.  We are off to Italy folks!
